• Hospitals continue to face rising incidents of workplace violence, yet many prevention programs are built without evidence to show what truly works. This session highlights proven strategies to reduce violent events across emergency departments and inpatient units using two validated tools: the Aggressive Behavior Risk Assessment Tool (ABRAT) and the Violent Event Severity Tool (VEST).
• Presenters will share findings from interventional studies showing that a small percentage of patients account for most violent incidents and that low-cost, targeted interventions can significantly reduce harm.
